As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world; you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. Throughout the course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including safe diving practices, dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water dives.

What You Learn

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge Development to understand basic principles of scuba diving (online, home study or in our Pyramids classroom)

  • Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills

  • Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!

If you’ve tried diving through a Discover Scuba Diving experience or resort course, the skills you learned may be credited towards a portion of the full PADI Open Water Diver course certification.

How Long Will it Take?

The course runs over 3 to 4 days or you can do also do the theory online if you wish.

All PADI courses are performance based, not time based, so don’t worry if you get stuck on any part of the course. As long as you put the effort in, we’ll let you come back until you pass with NO EXTRA COST TO YOU.

To enrol in the Open Water Diver course, you must :

  • Be in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water. You should be able to answer “No” to all questions on the Medical Questionnaire. If you need to answer “Yes” to any question then don’t worry. You just need a signature of your Doctor or one of our dive Doctors to say that you are fit to dive an then you you can join us on the course.

  • Be 10 years or older to start the theory and pool sessions ( PADI E- Learning requires a minimum age of 13 years due to international internet laws)

  • Be 10 years old to start the Open Water Dives

  • Be able to swim
